About MediaSave

MediaSave is a simple web tool for saving publicly accessible videos from X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. You paste a link, we show you the media files that are available for that post, and you choose which one to save.

What MediaSave does

• Recognises links from the four supported platforms and checks that they point to a supported kind of post.
• Passes the cleaned link to a media-resolution service that looks up the public post.
• Shows the qualities and formats that service actually returns — nothing more — and lets you download one.

Supported platforms

X / Twitter, Instagram (Reels and video posts), Facebook (public videos, Watch, reels) and TikTok. Each platform has its own guide: X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

Public media only

MediaSave cannot and will not access private accounts, friends-only posts, private groups, Stories or anything that requires signing in. We never ask for your social-media password and we don't bypass paywalls, DRM or other access controls. Not every public link will work every time — platforms change, posts get removed, and processing services sometimes have outages. When something can't be processed, we tell you why as clearly as we can.

Our approach to privacy

We keep only what we need to run and protect the service: hashed (not raw) IP identifiers for rate limiting, and request logs that are deleted on a schedule (currently after 30 days). We don't keep copies of the videos you download. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Responsible use

Videos belong to their creators. Being able to view something publicly doesn't give you the right to republish it. Please save content only for personal use that the law and the platform's terms allow, or where you have the owner's permission — and credit creators when you share. Independence

MediaSave is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp., Meta Platforms, Inc. (Instagram, Facebook) or TikTok / ByteDance. Platform names are used only to describe which links the tool supports.
