Short links straight from the app
When you tap Share → Copy link in TikTok, you usually get a short link like vm.tiktok.com/… instead of the full
video address. MediaSave accepts short links as they are — the media service follows them to the actual video, so there's no need to
open the link in a browser first.
Supported TikTok link formats
Step by step
- Open the video in TikTok and tap the Share arrow on the right.
- Tap Copy link.
- Paste the link into MediaSave and press Download.
- Choose from the formats the service returns. Some TikTok posts include an audio-only option for the sound.
Respect the creator's download setting
TikTok lets creators decide whether others may download their videos. If the Save video option is missing in the app, the creator has chosen not to allow downloads — please respect that and ask them directly if you'd like to use the clip. When you share a TikTok elsewhere, credit the creator by their @username.
Photo posts and slideshows
TikTok "photo mode" posts are a set of images with a soundtrack rather than a video file. Depending on what the media service returns, you may see individual images and an audio track instead of an MP4 — or a "no media" message if it doesn't support them.
Why a TikTok link might fail
- Private account or friends-only video. Only approved followers can see these.
- Video removed. Deleted or moderated videos can't be reached.
- Regional restrictions. Some content isn't available in every country.
- LIVE streams. Live broadcasts aren't regular video posts and aren't supported.

What if the creator turned off downloads?
Please respect that choice. If you'd like to use the video, contact the creator directly and ask for permission.
Can I save TikTok photo slideshows?
Photo-mode posts are images with a soundtrack rather than a video. Whether they can be processed depends on the media service; if not, you'll see a “no media” message.
