Privacy Policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information MediaSave (https://mediasave.site/) processes when you use the website, why, and for how long. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. Information we process
Links you submit
When you paste a link, we process it to detect the platform and send a cleaned version to a media-resolution service (see section 5). In our request log we store a one-way keyed hash of the link rather than the link itself, together with the platform, the result (success or the type of error), which service handled it, and how long it took. Administrators can optionally enable storage of full links for troubleshooting; if enabled, those links are deleted with the rest of the log.
IP addresses
Your IP address is used in memory to apply rate limits and prevent abuse. We store only a keyed hash of it (not the raw address) in the request log and rate-limit table. Rate-limit records expire automatically within minutes to hours.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider's web server may record standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser user-agent). These are kept by the host for operational and security purposes according to its own retention settings.
Contact form
If you contact us, we store your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply, plus a hashed IP identifier to prevent spam. We keep messages for as long as needed to handle your request and then delete them.
2. Cookies
- Necessary: a session cookie (
ms_sid) that holds a security token protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, and a cookie recording your consent choices (ms_consent), if a consent banner is shown. - Analytics (optional): only if analytics is enabled on this site and you consent.
- Advertising (optional): only if ads are enabled on this site and you consent where consent is required.
See our Cookie Policy for details. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
3. Analytics
If we enable an analytics service (for example Google Analytics), it collects information about how pages are used, such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from your IP address. Analytics scripts load only after you allow them where consent is required.
4. Advertising
If we show ads (for example through Google AdSense), the advertising provider and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — with your consent where required — to personalise them. Google's use of advertising data is described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. Third-party processing services
To find the media for a link, we send the cleaned link (not your IP address or any account information) to a third-party media-resolution provider configured for that platform. Thumbnails shown in results are loaded directly from the platform's or provider's servers, and when you download, your browser usually fetches the file directly from the provider's servers. Those services receive your IP address as part of a normal web request and process it under their own privacy policies.
6. Temporary processing
Processing results (including file links) are kept in a short-lived server cache for up to 30 minutes so your download buttons work, then discarded. We do not store copies of videos on our servers.
7. Retention
Request logs are deleted automatically after 30 days. Rate-limit records expire automatically. System error logs are kept only as long as needed to fix problems.
8. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process request and security data based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable service; contact messages to respond to you; and analytics and advertising cookies based on your consent.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Because we store hashed identifiers rather than raw IP addresses or links, we may not be able to link log entries to you. To make a request, contact us.
10. Children
MediaSave is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
12. Contact
